Alan Wake , a PC Action-Adventure title from 2010, is coming to Xbox One this fall, and it’s looking fantastic. Remastering a game from the ground up is a big task. Sometimes it results in a great, refreshed gaming experience, as you can see from the newly-launched consoles from both Microsoft and Sony. In other cases, it can turn into a disaster. That’s what happened to Alan Wake, a game that was released to critical acclaim in 2012.
‘Alan Wake Remastered’ Releases Fall 2016, Is An Epic
Alan Wake is the third Alan Wake game, but it’s the first one to come to PC. It’s also the first game to be remastered, meaning the developers are doing what they can to make it look as good as possible on modern hardware. The game’s story follows the return of the titular character, who wakes up in the middle of the night to find that it’s been eerily quiet. He goes to check on his wife, only to find that she’s vanished. Stumbling his way through the darkness, Alan finds that his wife has been taken by the titular Dark Presence, an evil entity that also apparently murdered his daughter.
Alan Wake Remastered will be released sometime in the Fall of 2021, according to developer Remedy Entertainment. The company has teamed up with Epic Games Publishing to publish the long-awaited game, which means it will be available only on the Epic Games Store for PC.
Alan Wake Remastered will include all of the material from the original game, including the core game as well as the two expansions – The Signal and The Writer.
All of this material is presented in all-new rendered 4K graphics, which have yet to be shown in fresh screenshots. In addition, creative director Sam Lake will provide additional commentary for the game.
“Alan Wake Remastered is the original Alan Wake experience that you fell in love with so many years ago. That was something we didn’t want to alter “Lake wrote about it in a post on the fan site The Sudden Stop, which was where the original news was made.
“However, everything of the graphics, including Alan Wake’s character model and the cinematics, have been refreshed and enhanced with some excellent next-generation improvements.”
Alan Wake Remastered is set to release in Fall 2021 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. More information is expected “soon.”
