Season 5 episode 10 of Insecure contains spoilers!
The last episode of Insecure aired tonight, marking the end of a 10-week run for Issa Dee (Issa Rae), Molly Carter (Yvonne Orgi), Lawrence Walker (Jay Ellis), and Keli Prenny (Natasha Rothwell).
Over the previous five years, the comedic drama has been a smash with black audiences and beyond, and some fans can’t believe Issa’s narrative has come to a close in an episode loaded with birthdays, time leaps, and one huge party.
Issa told Metro.co.uk that die-hard fans may not be’satisfied’ with the show’s conclusion, and she hinted at avoiding Twitter until the last episode airs.
‘Of course not!’ the Awkward Black Girl actress said when asked whether fans would be thrilled with the series finale. Certainly not.
‘This is an ending that I personally like, but I have no doubt that others will have something to say about it.’
So, the big day has arrived, and here’s a rundown of what transpired.
What occurred at the conclusion of season 5 of Insecure?
Issa and Lawrence reconcile their relationship.
After Condola Hayes (Christina Elmore) revealed she was pregnant with Lawrence’s kid at the conclusion of season four, Issa and Lawrence called it quits (again).
Despite her best efforts, Issa broke up with him in episode one of season five, and began a relationship with Nathan Campbell (Kendrick Sampson).
For months, the former lovers maintained a friendly silence, but the Issa, Lawrence, and Nathan love triangle erupted in full force at Tiff and Derek’s barbeque in episode nine, titled Out Okay.
Lawrence expressed his affections for Issa, but he had no idea Nathan had overheard their chat. After a heated argument, Nathan labels his and Issa’s’relationship’ as ‘toxic,’ forcing Issa to choose who she wants to be with.
However, after seeing all of her friends’ relationships develop, Issa decides to take a chance and rekindle her relationship with Lawrence.
Issa, Lawrence, and his son Elijah are laughing and joking in the kitchen a year later, when Issa walks to the bathroom and grins at herself in the mirror… for the final time.
Molly and Taurean tie the knot.

Molly ultimately received her happy ending when she married her coworker Taurean Jackson at the conclusion of the episode (Leonard Robinson).
The last image began with a couple exiting a church, and although fans may have assumed it was Issa and Lawrence, it was really Molly and Taurean’s big day, with Issa and the bridesmaids dressed in red.
Molly attempted to get back into the dating world in Season 5, Episode 1, and the two loving attorneys decided to take a break from chatting about business for a while and genuinely get to know one another.
Fans were worried how the burgeoning relationship would pan out, but they were won over by their unmistakable connection.
‘I knew Yvonne before Insecure, via our stand-up comedy careers,’ Robinson told TVLine.
‘Because she’s so cool, there was immediately a connection.’ I’ll admit that there was a part of me that believed a Molly and Taurean romance could never happen. ‘However, I’m delighted I was mistaken.’
Carol ‘Cece’ Carter, rest in peace.

The final episode had several heartwarming moments, but Molly’s mother Carol Carter’s death brought a tear to my eye.
The whole Carter family was hospitalized in episode five, titled Surviving Okay, and fans knew they were in for a wild ride as a doctor mistaken a dead old lady for their beloved Carol.
Mrs. Carter’s stroke had caused significant damage, and it was possible that she might become paralyzed, according to another doctor.
Molly gets a call from her brother Curtis in episode 10 when her emotions were high, telling her the devastating news, and later falls down in Issa’s arms.
Is there going to be a sixth season?
Regrettably, no. It is, without a doubt, the end of an era!
Rae spoke with Deadline about the program’s conclusion and thanked HBO for believing in her vision for the show.
‘We always intended to tell this narrative across five seasons, but we wouldn’t have gotten this far without our audience’s incredible support.’
‘I consider myself really fortunate to be able to put our characters’ journeys to a close, at least on film.’
Season 5 of Insecure is now available to watch on Sky Comedy, with the final episode showing on December 28th at 9pm.
